Honda will be launching its highly-awaited SUV, the Honda BR-V, on May 5, 2016. The BR-V was showcased at the Indian Auto Expo this year in February. The upcoming SUV is based on the Mobilio MPV and was first unveiled in Japan last year. The BR-V will compete against the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano and the Maruti S-Cross.

Design wise, the BR-V has a lot of similarities with other Honda cars. It carries forward the same design philosophy as the City and the Jazz.

The front end of the SUV is more pronounced and chunkier with a large grille finished in chrome. The BR-V also gets a very unique tail lamp assembly that stretches all the way across the tailgate. The side profile of the BR-V is a lot like the Mobilio’s in terms of overall design and size. But the presence of chrome sprinkled around the car give it a more premium look.

The BR-V will also be equipped with dual SRS airbags and ABS as standard across all variants.

The BR-V’s cabin is loaded with gizmos such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, rear parking camera and electrically controlled rear view mirrors.
